This illusion has been posted around the net on quite a few occassions however, no-one has been able to verify whether it is fake or not.
For starters, if the UPS vans were painted onto the truck they would only appear “correct” from one angle.
Speculation has been made that this is merely a viral marketing campaign by Fedex (which appeared to have worked?) similar to a Mercedes Benz campaign, which show a Mercedes truck carrying 6 BMW Cars.

Awesome piece of work! I also think that this is just a viral piece, but it sure looks well done!
that is obviously fake… there are a dozen or so photoshopped photos with this kind of thing…
I’ve seen this truck at least twice on the road.
Looks great in person - great ad!
I’m fairly certain this was part of a photoshopping contest; I’ve seen this and many other versions of it in collections. There is the possibility that FedEx saw those shops and decided to use the idea for an ad campaign, but I’m a bit doubtful as I haven’t seen any of the campaign or heard any verified accounts of it online.
I don’t think he was saying for sure that it was real or photoshopped, i think he was just posting it cause it looks cool, personally i don’t care if something is shopped, if it looks cool, it looks cool what does it matter?
ME Taut Dat It Wuz REal!
Yeah, probably one of the great PS contests at worth100.com or something of that nature.
Love it, though. Good PS work is a joy to behold:)
I work at UPS. The doors on the back of the brown package car (which I unload for hours every day) are not correct for the length of the truck. There are long brown trucks and small brown trucks. The only ones with doors that open like that (side to side) are short, the ones in the picture are long.
This is on snopes dot com. It’s photoshopped. There are several other pieces of work like this with the exact same semi truck and background used.
it looks kinda real
